An Unexpected Quest is the first book in the new children’s fantasy series, Tales of Aetheria by Game Master Mom.
This book introduces families to playing tabletop role-playing games (like Dungeons & Dragons) together. The story follows two young siblings as they immerse themselves in playing the Adventures in Aetheria TTRPG with their mom on a rainy day. As their characters– Brit, a half-elf wizard and Talon, a human fighter– the siblings delve into an unexpected quest and make new friends along the way on this epic adventure story!

The author, Nicole, aka Game Master Mom, wrote Tales of Aetheria based on her experience as a game master running kids’ D&D games. Nicole searched for a children’s bedtime story to share with her own young kids to introduce them to the fantasy TTRPG worlds that she loves– and couldn’t find one! So, she wrote her own!
